Australian businesses can now use artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate and help reduce bias in recruitment processes, thanks to a partnership between leading Talent Management Software-as-a-Service provider PageUp and machine learning startup PredictiveHire.

As part of the partnership, joint clients can use PredictiveHire’s AI technology to conduct the first level of screening for job applications. The addition of PredictiveHire’s AI technology to PageUp’s recruitment solution will allow for faster, more objective hiring decisions based on data and trends drawn from historically high-performers.

PredictiveHire leverages an organisationorganization’s performance data and staff surveys to determine, with 88% accuracy, the traits which are inherent in its high performers. This data is turned into a candidate survey that allows recruitment managers to screen for desired traits early on in the hiring journey. Since launching in 2013 the platform has helped hire over 8,000 people across its customer base in the UK and Australia.

The business case for diversity is strong: gender diverse companies are up to 21% more likely to experience above-average profitability than those who aren’t, while culturally diverse companies are up to 33% more likely to outperform their less diverse counterparts, according to research by McKinsey & Company. As leaders in recruitment, PageUp’s partnership with innovative technology providers like PredictiveHire empowers joint customers to embrace the next generation of recruiting to drive results in their organisationsorganizations.

“PredictiveHire is an Artificial Intelligence innovator and we are thrilled to be partnering with them. We’ll be using their sophisticated and emerging technology to increase the speed and accuracy with which companies can recruit top candidates,” said Karen Cariss, CEO and Founder of PageUp.

“PredictiveHire joins the PageUp marketplace of over 100 leading HR tech providers from video interviewing, to background checking, time and attendance and more. We’re thrilled to make another innovative software available to our customers, and proud to support an Australian (and Victorian) grown startup.”

“Unconscious bias has long been part of the hiring process, and now we have the means to eliminate it,” CEO of PredictiveHire Barb Hyman said.

“People are an organisationorganization‘s most valuable asset. The best way to achieve business transformation is to change your hiring practices. This tool will empower hiring managers across the country to clearly pinpoint those soft skills that can determine success in any role.”

PageUp will be hosting a webinar with Buddhi Jayatilleke, Chief Data Scientist at PredictiveHire that focuses on demystifying bias in AI for recruiting on 13 February AEST.
