NEW YORK, September 8, 2026 – PageUp, a global leader in talent acquisition software, today announced that it has been certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the world’s first international standard for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS). The certification follows an independent audit by Sustainable Certification Services, completed with zero nonconformities. With this, PageUp has been certified as an AI Producer, a designation that applies to organisationsorganizations that build AI systems rather than simply deploy them. The scope covers the responsible development, provision, and use of AI across PageUp’s full product suite, including Clinch.
For organisationsorganizations that rely on PageUp for hiring, and the tens of millions of candidates who engage with its solutions each year, ISO/IEC 42001 certification assures that PageUp’s AI is designed to keep humans in the loop. PageUp’s AI operates on a principle of augmentation, not automation, meaning that recommendations are advisory with human review baked into every workflow. That is the same principle that shaped Paige, PageUp’s recently launched agentic talent acquisition assistant, which serves as a reasoning layer delivering citation-based answers while ensuring recruiters maintain oversight.
The ISO/IEC 42001 certification builds on PageUp’s existing independent assurance conducted by Warden AI, which includes monthly bias audits of its AI skills-matching functionality, with results consistently surpassing disparate-impact and consistency thresholds.
By establishing requirements for AIMS, ISO/IEC 42001 also provides guidance for this evolving field and offers several benefits in the process, including a structured way to manage the risks and opportunities associated with AI risk, in order to balance innovation with governance. With this in mind, behind the certification sits a governance system within PageUp: an executive AI Governance Committee that oversees every AI feature through its lifecycle; eight AI guiding principles spanning fairness, transparency, privacy, accountability and human-centered design; and a mandatory AI impact assessment, completed ahead of development, with committee sign-off before any high-risk capability ever reaches a customer.
“We build AI that takes admin off hiring teams so they can do the strategic work of connecting people to opportunity, because creating connections that power growth is PageUp’s core purpose,” said Aaron Hardy, SVP of Product, PageUp. “Certification as an AI Producer means an independent auditor has examined how PageUp builds, not just how we deploy. Our customers are hiring under new rules in every market they operate in, and they need evidence rather than assurances.”
