MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – October 6th, 2009 – Leading Integrated Talent Management solutions provider, PageUp People, speak exclusively to Kevin Wheeler, globally renowned speaker, author, teacher and consultant in human capital acquisition and development, on the future of Talent Management.
Wheeler explores his own predictions along side market trends and highlights some of the key challenges for both individuals and organisations in the Talent Management industry.
Wheeler envisages the need for more sustainable thinking and strategy for human capital issues and a need to simplify the recruitment process.
“We will see fewer recruiters doing more with less and leveraging a lot more technology. The continuous challenge will be in overall talent management rather than individual silos of recruitment, performance, learning and development; it needs to be seamless – integrated. A key challenge for large organisations is going to be themselves. Their own internal systems are designed to prevent change and the ability to change and become more flexible is essential for organizations moving forward.”
Wheeler has a 25 year career in corporate America serving as the Senior Vice President for Staffing and Workforce Development at the Charles Schwab Corporation, the Vice President of Human Resources for Alphatec Electronics, Inc. in Thailand, and in a variety of human resources roles at National Semiconductor Corporation, Wheeler had firsthand knowledge of the need for better strategies and approaches to finding, developing and retaining people. Wheeler also is one of the initiators of the annual Australasian Talent Conference and has worked with clients such as Sun Microsystems, Eli Lilly and PricewaterhouseCoopers to develop comprehensive talent acquisition processes and procedures.
