“I’ve been here for a year and a half and when I applied, I emailed my materials to an email address. My first thought was, ‘woah, I’m not applying online…’” explains Michelle Darveau, Assistant Director of Human Resources – Organizational Development at Colorado School of Mines. It was clear that recruitment and onboarding needed to be brought into line with candidate expectations, and contemporary processes.

 

Finding the right recruitment software

Darveau knew she needed a platform that would be easy for the HR team and hiring managers to use, and provide a great experience for candidates. She’s found that, and more, in PageUp’s Recruitment software.  

“One of our Deans has commented on how much better it is having the PageUp system in place. They love that they aren’t now killing trees with all of the paperwork. They appreciate being able to see everything about the recruitment process online,” says Darveau. Candidates can easily be rated online, and scores for each cohort are displayed in one simple dashboard. “All of the information I need is right there,” says Darveau. “Our business appreciates the candidate experience and the immediate access to their materials that the PageUp system provides.”

 

Reporting is easy

Although HR systems capture plenty of data, it’s not always easy to draw out that data into reports when you need it. “I’ve been really impressed with the reporting that we are able to do,” says Darveau. “I received a request for some gender and ethnicity numbers for an entire college and we were able to turn that request around in a couple of hours. It was a big win for us and the person requesting the information.”

 

Partners in innovation

PageUp is constantly evolving the platform and customers are an important part of our approach to innovation. Darveau has experienced this first-hand. “They’re so friendly and really knowledgeable and I’m always so surprised when I say, ‘You know what would be really great – if the system did this,’ and a couple of months later they say, ‘Hey Michelle, guess what, we made this and it works, and here you go we’re going to put it in Beta’.”
