From all of us at PageUp have a safe and happy holiday period and we look forward to seeing you in 2004.
BioNatural launched from a spare bedroom and a single product in June 2001 and are now national direct marketers in the wellbeing and preventative natural health industry. This is the opposite of the after-the-event sickness industry. Business has been expanding rapidly with an increase of 553% from this financial year compared to the previous year as their reputation grows. BioNatural carry an innovative product mix by selective importing and manufacturing. They have a national toll free number for customer contact and bought a retail shop in December 2001 with a second shop now coming up on the edge of the Melbourne CBD. They are both business to consumer and business to business.
Robyn Wawn, Managing Director of BioNatural, said "In my team-building endeavours, I originally found PageUp by recommendation from one of their clients when looking to implement easy and fast in-house control over the BioNatural website contents while having someone else look after back end technology. That seems like light years ago (around 18 months back).
I then looked at additional income streams by adding secure online shopping. This was set up by PageUp in April 2003 and we now have over 101 products with more coming. I decided if people can't come to the shop, the shop will go to them online. Many of our clients are from remote parts of Australia and can't make it into capital cities. They are also looking for online information on our website which is part of the process of taking responsibility for their own health.
The PageUp modular add-ons of website functions suited us as we grew. The next challenge with PageUp is export and currency conversions as we head towards full e-commerce capability and interactivity. From client emails received, the market for our products is global. PageUp are one of our critical professional partners as business continues to expand. Stay tuned?."

Another great new use of SMS technology arrives in Australia for the New Year with the introduction of mobile phone-based bar code ticketing. The new 'Mobi-tickets' are SMS messages containing a bar code that can be scanned by the ticket attendant in lieu of a traditional paper one. Messages also include confirmation of ticket and event details. The technology has already been used earlier this year in Scotland at the Edinburgh festival and will be tested this month by the Metro Theatre in Sydney. It is expected that with such high mobile phone penetration in Australia, this convenient and instant ticketing system will soon become mainstream.
While the best prevention for a hangover is not to over indulge the night before, often that is easier said than done and we tend to forget about how we will feel tomorrow as the night goes on. However, if the only way to get through the next day without a throbbing head is to consume one of these concoctions, maybe you?ll think twice before having one-too-many champagnes!
In 16th-century England one hangover cure involved a mixture of raw eels and almonds, ground to a paste and forced down with chunks of bread.
An American tradition from the Wild West recommends hot water mixed with jackrabbit droppings.
Ancient Assyrians mixed crushed swallows? beaks with myrrh, and Romans ate fried canaries after a big night of gluttony, orgies and drunkeness.
19th century chimney sweeps drank warm milk with a teaspoon of soot.
Mongolians drink tomato juice with a pickled sheep?s eye.
An ancient Chinese cure involves eating a small amount of horse brain the morning after a night of overindulgence.
Enjoy the festive season sensibly, these cures are worse than the symptoms!
